Police have detained five youths suspected of being involved in the alleged anti-Semitic beating of a Jewish teenager in Paris two weeks ago. Rudy Haddad, 17, was wearing a kippa when he was beaten. Paris police have been investigating the crime as an anti-Semitic incident.
Four of the youths called in for questioning on Monday were detained in the 19th district of Paris, where the crime took place. One was stopped in the northern Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis. Immediately following the attack, five other youths had been held by police and were later released as witnesses.
