A memorial service for the Jewish victims of the recent terror attacks in Mumbai has been held in one of the city's synagogues. The service at the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue was attended by more than 100 mourners attended including Israel's ambassador to India, Mark Sofer. Moshe Holtzberg, two-year old orphan whose parents were killed by terrorists in Mumbai’s Chabad House, was present at the emotionally charged service. Held by his grieving grandmother, he cried out "Ima" and "Dada", Hebrew for mother and father, at the prayers for Mumbai's Jewish community. The toddler's parents - Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and Rivka Holtzberg - were among six Jewish people killed in Nariman House.
The five-storey building has served as an educational center, synagogue and hostel for Israeli tourists. Moshe survived after his Indian nanny Sandra Samuel, 44, fled with him in her arms as militants captured the building. Israeli officials who traveled to the city say the toll could be higher, as forensic teams continue to search the site.
The remains of six Jewish victims of the terror attacks, including Moshe Holtzberg's parents, were buried at Jerusalem's Mount of Olives on Tuesday, with thousands of mourners attending the funeral service.
