Legal action is being taken against 11 Italian soccer fans for brandishing Nazi symbols during a game. Announcing the action, the Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said that the 11 face prison sentences of between three months and one year. To provoke the largely left-wing leaning opposition fans at last weekend's game, the accused waved flags with swastikas and held aloft an anti-Semitic banner.
In addition the club involved, Roma, have been ordered to play their next home match behind closed doors at a neutral venue and has been fined a total of € 12,000 euros (US$ 14,485).
