Israeli President Reuven Rivlin reached out to global Jewry on Tuesday with a video message in which he urged Jews around the world to “take care of yourselves - you are members of our family overseas." President Rivlin also called for the Jewish community to stay "strong, united, healthy and well," reminding us that throughout history, Jewish people have survived against all odds.
President Rivlin acknowledged that “the whole world is, right now, is in a difficult time of fear and confusion,” and that the virus has “turned our lives upside down.” He concluded that it is important for everyone – Jewish or not- to be united, and called for those who are able, to help the elderly, the lonely and those without supplies, explaining that “our sense of mutual obligation is the fundamental value that has protected us.”
