Twelve Italians from Turin who were forced laborers under Nazi rule in 1944 are suing Germany and the automobile group DaimlerChrysler for compensation of € 1 million each. They were arrested in June 1944 by German soldiers, deported to a German concentration camp and forced to work for Daimler-Benz, the predecessor of DaimlerChrysler. Their claim for compensation from the German Slave Laborer Fund was rejected by the International Organization for Migration, which was in charge of the allocation of monies to them.
