Jewish leaders in Canada have supported a government decision to bar the leader of the US-based New Black Panther Party from entering the country. Malik Zulu Shabazz, who was invited by ‘Black Youth Taking Action’ to address a rally in Toronto, has been refused entry by Canadian authorities. Bernie Farber, the chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, expressed satisfaction, citing a text Shabazz wrote for the 2005 book ‘Synagogue of Satan’, in which he claimed that ‘the Jewish elite’n were the masters of satanic forces that corrupted the world. Farber said that Shabazz was “the worst possible kind of speaker that one can have to speak to youth or anybody else." B'nai Brith Canada, which had urged the government not to let Shabazz into the country, also applauded the government for its "resolve and determination to fight hatred and extremism."
