The World Jewish Congress is delighted to invite you to an event entitled Antisemitism on Social Media: Challenges for academics and policy-makers, which will take place on 18 May 2022 at 10:00 a.m. EDT / 16:00 CET / 17:00 IST.

On the occasion of the recently published book Antisemitism on Social Media, the event will delve deeper into the complex phenomenon and feature the participation of several of its contributors, and representatives from social media companies, the United Nations and the European Commission.

In recent years, social media has seen an unnerving growth in online activity that promotes incitement to violence and spreads xenophobic rhetoric, specifically against Jews and other religious minorities. With the onset of the coronavirus online activity promoting conspiracy myths, Holocaust denial and distortion, and other forms of hate surged.

Together with our communities, the WJC is closely monitoring these growing streams of antisemitism, prepared to contend with threats both online and in the physical sphere.
