Havurah, a project in NextGenInc., has announced that in March they will be opening a new gallery show, Tzimtzum. Hosted by the Jerusalem Biennale, Havurah is thrilled to make the trip to Jerusalem to represent New York Judaism.
Taking its title from the Kabbalistic metaphor for creation, Tzimtzum will explore the artistic potential of divine concealment. The seven participating artists use their work as a tool to draw out the spiritual dimensions of commonplace diaspora scenes. Featuring new and recent works of painting, sculpture, and photography, Tzimtzum will offer a window into one of North America’s few artist communities built explicitly for and by Jews.
