On Friday, July 18th, on the sidelines of the AMIA bombing anniversary, the Argentinian Union of Jewish Students, AUJA, held a Political Training Seminar, an AUJA exclusive initiative, supported by WJC NextGen, designed to empower members to actively engage with key community issues. The program centered on four fundamental pillars: national politics, community involvement, professional development, and youth advocacy.
The day began with a delegation of over 30 Jewish students from 10 different universities attending the official AMIA commemoration ceremony. Afterwards, they were welcomed for a brunch at the headquarters of the Latin American Jewish Congress. The group visited Argentina’s National Congress for a private tour, which concluded with an exclusive dialogue with members of Congress about the key challenges of antisemitism on university campuses and in the wider public sphere.
To strengthen their members’ advocacy skills, AUJA hosted a session with professionals working to combat antisemitism in the corporate, public, and community world. Additionally, they conducted a workshop to brainstorm and design new AUJA projects. The seminar concluded the day with a meaningful Shabbat service and dinner, providing space for reflection and connection. It was a powerful and inspiring experience, and AUJA's students left feeling energized and committed to continuing their journey in advocacy and leadership. A recap of the event on AUJA's Instagram.
