The Shoah in France: The Drancy camp

80 years ago this week, the first deportation transport train left the Drancy camp near Paris for Auschwitz, in late March 1942. Roughly 64,000 Jews were deported from Drancy between the first transport in March 1942 and the last in July 1944. The majority were sent to Auschwitz.
