Marija is currently the Case Manager for Combating Antisemitism as a part of the WJC Operations Team. She started her career at WJC in 2022 as an intern and effectively supported the implementation of two research-oriented project interventions on tackling contemporary extremism and antisemitism.
Marija earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology only to later obtain two master’s degrees. One in the field of Holocaust and remembrance studies at the Department of Languages, Literature and Culture of the Faculty of Philology, with the thesis focusing on the literary and criminological analysis of the letters of Hilda Dajč – a Shoah victim’s private correspondence sent from within a concentration camp. The other master's degree she earned at the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies in Belgrade at the Department of Criminalistics and Law, where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in the field of combatting antisemitism from a legal perspective. Marija is fluent in Serbian and English. She also possesses basic to intermediate knowledge of Danish, Russian, French and Hebrew.
In November 2022, she was awarded by The Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia for her work “The Letters of Hilda Dajč: Contexts of Creation, Preservation and Reading”.
