Gabriel Mayer-Heft was born in Montreal where he acquired his bachelor’s degree in history from Concordia University. Gabriel then moved to Israel and graduated magna cum laude from Reichman University with a master’s degree in diplomacy and conflict studies. Over the course of his degree, he interned at the Abba Eban institute and conducted research with professors from both Reichman and Harvard University. His primary research interest is foreign policy, though he has also worked on projects in the fields of democracy, alliance networks, and negotiation. His thesis, which he eventually published, was among the first works to empirically investigate the efficacy of public diplomacy through food (gastrodiplomacy). Gabriel’s aptitudes include writing, editing, academic research, team management, and conducting statistical research.
