The Sudanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Najib Al-Khair Abdul-Wahab, has said that the US administration's position on the Darfur crisis is being driven by pressure from "many parliamentary groups and lobbies, especially the blacks and Jewish lobbies".
The minister maintained that any reports or measures adopted by the US in relation to Darfur are part of the current election campaign for the US presidency and that Sudan would "never give heed to whatever might be adopted by these American lobbies or groups".
