The Israel Allies Foundation held its annual Jerusalem Chairman’s Conference in Jerusalem which was sponsored by the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ). The gathering was attended by 22 parliamentarians from 18 countries worldwide, as well as a number of distinguished guests from Israel.
Topics discussed during the conference included the double standard of anti-Israel boycotts, the threat of a nuclear Iran on Israel and the Western world, and Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel.
During the first day of the conference the group of parliamentarians were addressed by senior Israeli officials including President Reuven Rivlin, Minster Gila Gamliel, MK Robert Ilatov, MK Yoel Hasson, MK Anat Berko, and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.
The second day of the conference was spent on a tour of the West Bank, including a visit to a Rami Levy Supermarket in Sh’ar Binyamin where the parliament members will hear from Arabs and Jews who work together everyday. The tour also included a visit with Bat Galim Shaer, the mother of one of the boys kidnapped and killed by Hamas during last summer’s war.
On Thursday, the parliamentarians drafted and signed a resolution declaring their support for Israel and vowing to take a stance against racist, anti-Israel movements such as BDS. The resolution was accepted by, Minister Gilad Erdan, on behalf of the Israeli government at a press conference.
The lawmakers attending the Israel Allies Foundation annual Jerusalem Chairman’s Conference came from an array of countries around the world, including the UK, Italy, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Greece, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Canada, South Africa, Uganda, Guatemala, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay.
