JERUSALEM – Leaders of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC) and the World Jewish Congress (WJC) will be in St. Petersburg, Russia this Friday to meet with local Christian leaders at what is expected to be the largest pro-Israel event in the city’s history. The delegation will promote Judeo-Christian relations and aims to shore up support for Israel among Christians in Russia. The event, hosted by the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem St. Petersburg branch, is expected to be attended by more than 400 people.
Following high-level meetings, the delegation will attend the largest pro-Israel Christian event in St. Petersburg's history. Keynote speakers include Israel’s Deputy Minister for the Advancement of Young People, Students and Women Gila Gamliel, Member of Knesset Anastasia Michaeli, WJC Secretary General Dan Diker and Knesset Christian Allies Caucus Director Josh Reinstein.
Reinstein stated: “With the international assault against the nation-state of the Jewish people becoming stronger and more sophisticated, especially in Europe, Israel needs more friends and allies.”
WJC Secretary General Dan Diker declared: “The World Jewish Congress is committed to strengthening ties between Christians around the world who share our commitment to Israel and defend it against unfair attacks in their home countries. Many Russian Christians love Israel and travel to the Holy Land in great numbers. Our meeting in St. Petersburg will strengthen the bond between us and tell the Christian community in Russia that we will help protect their communities and holy places in the Middle East.”
