A permanent exhibition on Jews deported from France to the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz is to open next year, to mark the 60th anniversary of the camp’s liberation. On 27 January 2005, French president Jacques Chirac will inaugurate the exhibition, which will include some 1,000 photographs of Jewish children deported by the Nazis. The commemoration will also be attended by the presidents of Israel, Poland and Russia.
