An international conference on "Civil society and the fight against poverty" will be held next week in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires. It is jointly organized by the "Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina" (AMIA), the Inter-American Bank Development Bank (IADB) and the Latin American Jewish Congress. It will be opened on Monday by, among other, the Chairman of the World Jewish Congress Israel Singer, Argentina's Social Development minister Alicia Kirchner, who is the sister of the country's president, Néstor Kirchner, and the vice-president of the government of Buenos Aires, Jorge Telerman.
