Institute of the World Jewish Congress
The Institute of the World Jewish Congress, based in Jerusalem, serves as the research arm of the World Jewish Congress. It also works to foster mutual understanding among Jews in Israel and in the various Diaspora communities. The Institute is involved in research and analysis of a variety of issues of importance to contemporary Jewry; its findings are published in a timely fashion in the form of monthly Policy Dispatches.
The Institute publishes:
Policy
Dispatches – brief and timely analysis
of issues of immediate concern;
the Policy
Forum series, presenting current developments
in Jewish affairs from the perspective of noted authorities
and researchers; and
the Policy
Studies series, presenting comprehensive
examinations of topics of concern for Jews throughout
the world. Dialogues, a newsletter focusing on issues
relating to interfaith dialogue and inter-religious
relations, is published bi-annually.
The Institute's Hebrew publications include Gesher – a Hebrew language journal of Jewish affairs, and Batefutsot – a quarterly Hebrew newsletter about Jewish life in the Diaspora, featuring news and portraits of particular communities. The Institute has also published Jewish Communities of the World (Lerner Publications, 1998), which is reproduced in abridged form on the World Jewish Congress website.
