Leaders of the World Jewish Congress have held talks with Singapore's senior minister Goh Chok Tong. WJC secretary-general Stephen Herbits met the former prime minister at the Istana, the residence of the president of Singapore. Herbits briefed Goh on the WJC's objectives and programs, notably on establishing a dialogue between the religions and cultures, and Goh explained Singapore's policies to preserve its interracial and multi-religious harmony. Both sides agreed that it was important for peoples of different faiths to have more interaction and exchanges in the future.
