Antisemitism seems to be a growing problem in the African American community, especially in urban areas. Civic and spiritual leaders espouse that African Americans do not create their own problems (e.g., crime, etc.), whites, jews, and other ethnic minorities are in line to set them up for failure. Much like Germany post-WWI, African-Americans in poverty are willing to believe such words and use different groups as scapegoats for many of their own societal issues. The urban leaders should be encouraged to focus on the successes of their culture and uplift their community, not sew the seeds of hatred.

The reality is that members of the Jewish community have worked to undermine the Black community economically throught the years. The book The secret relationship between Blacks and Jews exposes this using the words written by the hands of Jewish scholars. He wrote these organizations trying to establish dialogue in the proper setting, meaning not under the Illusion that Jews and Blacks have had a relationship as equals, we have had the relationship of master slave. So in his letter he let them know he is willing to dialogue as Civilized human beings. The ADL's response was sadly the wrong one. They have chosen to make war against a man OF GOD. We should not take the rantings of Farrakhan lightly. But more importantly, we need to watch closely those whom he seeks to influence.

I will never forget the pandering out-reach of Jesse Jackson and his anti-Semitic 'Hymie Town' remarks when he sought to become a factor of influence among those who proscribe to the Black Muslim movement.

While we see Farrakhan for what he plainly is, people like Jackson are the dangerous ones...those who move freely with generalized acceptance between the racial groups and wish to mark their territory, regardless of what damage they will do.

Its unfortunate that 'groups' of people have had to suffer the indignities and hatred of 'other' groups. Whether Minister Farrakhan's allegations are true or not I don't have 'factual' proof to believe these statements but, as a person of Afrikan-descent I can't allow myself or my family to fall victim of idea that we are "victims". Especially in a time in our history (U.S.A) whereby opportunities do exist and hard work does have a pay-off. I believe that the Jews "did" suffer a holocaust during WWII but, I "also" believe that Americans of Afrikan-descent suffered a "black holocaust" as well during the Atlantic passage, slave trade and slavery (all over the world). To have suffered the tragedy of 6-million Jews murdered during WWII is horrible and/are more equally tragic is the lost of approximately (according to some scholars) 100-million black lives lost during the slave era. "I too" believe that Black Americans are 'still' suffering (post traumatic slavery disorder) 145 years after this tragedy. That "full" reparations have not been realized as evident by the disproportionate dysfunctionality in the Black community and the negative worldwide perception of Blacks in general. The defeat of the Nazis regime did not end anti-semitism nor did the election of Barack Obama end racism of Blacks by some of our institutions here in America but certainly, Minister Farrakhan's comments 'will not' help us to resolve the issues confronting both groups today.

Farrakhan has always been outrageous -- a screaming hatemonger. Abe Foxman shouldn't even respond, because it's doubtful that Farrakhan has the capacity to understand the damage he causes -- damage far greater to Afro Americans than to Jews. He is a lowball opportunist and a detriment to our wonderful (and struggling) President Obama, because the President's objective is to unify people, while Farrakhan seeks to divide. Silly guy, stupid goal. He could learn a great deal from Henry Louis Gates, Jr., who is no slouch when it comes to historical issues and conflicts. But Professor Gates is a thinker and is driven by optimism and hope for our collective future, while Farrakhan seeks a monument to himself.
