Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has launched yet another diatribe against Israel and called Israelis “the most criminal people in the world.” In a speech to a crowd of supporters in Hormozgan province, in southern Iran, Ahmadinejad said the Jewish state would soon be annihilated and the Palestinians rid of a “bad omen.” Israel was a foreign presence and a “Western surrogate” in the Middle East and had now “reached the end of its road.”
“They think in their underdeveloped minds that if they launch another war against Lebanon or Syria it might help them survive a little longer. I am telling them that you are in a situation now that more aggressions or wars will not save you,” the state-run news website ‘Press TV’ quoted the Iranian president as saying. He added: “But whether the West does it or not, with God's grace, this regime will be annihilated and Palestinians as well as other regional states will get rid of this bad omen.”
During a visit to Kabul on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad had accused the United States of having created the terrorist movement it was now seeking to defeat in Afghanistan. He said NATO forces were deploying troops to the region intending to “seize the oil in Iraq and the Persian Gulf."
"II must tell you that the young generation of the Middle East will cut your hands off from the oil reserves of the Persian Gulf,” the Iranian president said.
