UGEI organized a commemoration for the hostages alongside the Hostage Family Forum of Italy and Run for Their Lives. They had 101 yellow balloons representing the 101 remaining hostages and they read their names. Ioel Roccas (Lauder Fellow '24-'25), Ariela Di Gioacchino (Lauder Fellow '21-'22 and current JDA Member), and Micol Di Gioacchino (Lauder Fellow '23-'24) were in attendance.
Current JDA member and former Lauder Fellow, David Britva Beraha ('23-'24) alongside JD Corps member Ariel Krok, had the chance to meet with Luis María Kreckler, Argentinian Consul in São Paulo, Brazil.
Last week the Manitoba community welcomed Canada and Israel’s Special Envoys for Combatting Antisemitism Michal Cotler-Wunsch and Deborah Lyons. Former Lauder Fellow and JDA Member, Emma Zentner, sat down with the Special Envoys, the Mauro Institute for Peace and Justice, and leadership from the city’s university institutions to discuss the challenges being faced both on campus and in the educational system.
Current Lauder Fellow, Ilan Janet, is creating an art collective of Jews, Zionists and allies. He held his first meeting on September 29th, where the group came together to meet and discuss the upcoming year.
Lauder Fellow, Alyssa Wallack, spoke on the End Jew Hatred panel where panelists discussed what antisemitism looks like on their campus and encouraged viewers to take action.
