Current Lauder Fellow, Eva Shrayer, helped organize multiple commemorations for October 7th at Cornell. They held tabling throughout the day to bring awareness to the day and to the current hostages. That evening, they hosted a meaningful vigil.
On October 6th, the Czech Union of Jewish Youth proudly hosted Judafest, their annual festival celebrating Czech Jewish culture. This vibrant event showcased the community's rich heritage to the broader public and aimed to challenge stereotypes surrounding Jewish identity.
UGEI organized a commemoration for the hostages alongside the Hostage Family Forum of Italy and Run for Their Lives. They had 101 yellow balloons representing the 101 remaining hostages and they read their names. Ioel Roccas (Lauder Fellow '24-'25), Ariela Di Gioacchino (Lauder Fellow '21-'22 and current JDA Member), and Micol Di Gioacchino (Lauder Fellow '23-'24) were in attendance.
Current JDA member and former Lauder Fellow, David Britva Beraha ('23-'24) alongside JD Corps member Ariel Krok, had the chance to meet with Luis María Kreckler, Argentinian Consul in São Paulo, Brazil.
