At the UJS Convention, Lauder Fellow Matty Fisher led Mobilise & Amplify, a dynamic session on the power of social media to raise awareness of issues impacting Jewish communities today. When used strategically, social media can transform conversations, amplify voices, and drive real change. Matty explored how students can utilize these platforms to mobilize support and make their messages resonate widely.
Drawing on his experience as the project manager behind the viral “We’ve Had Enough” campaign, Matty shared how he successfully amplified Jewish student voices in response to rising campus antisemitism following October 7th. His approach demonstrated the importance of crafting impactful messaging, building engagement, and creating campaigns that speak to audiences effectively while highlighting urgent issues.
The session equipped attendees with practical tools and strategies for harnessing social media as a game-changing advocacy tool. Matty’s insights empowered students to take the initiative, amplify their voices, and campaign for the most important causes. This ensured their messages were heard and their efforts made a meaningful impact.
