On Thursday 21st September, Former Lauder Fellow and JD Academy Member Noah Katz was elected as the Chair of Lancaster & Lakes Jewish Community. Taking over from Professor Naomi Tadmor, with whom Noah worked closely to fight antisemitism in the region during their time as a student leader, Noah is now the political and communal lead representative for the nearly 800 Jews in the large geographical region (according to the 2021 census).
Noah, together with the new committee, is designing and implementing a digital communication strategy for the community. Taking what they learned as a Lauder Fellow, Noah will be spearheading political and civic advocacy work on behalf of the community that they have been so welcomed by during their four years living in Lancaster.
