The World Jewish Congress believes that peace, remembrance, and coexistence are all to be reached through education. In this spirit, the WJC has joined the Muslim World League and the Pontifical Lateran University to create the MA Program “Religion, Culture, and Peace Studies”, a program launched in 2021, which is offered by the UN University for Peace, a unique global academic institution created by the UN General Assembly Resolution 35/55.
Through its Master’s and Doctoral degree programs, UPEACE trains future leaders to address the causes of multiple problems affecting human and global wellbeing and contribute to the processes of peacekeeping and peacebuilding. The fully-online MA program “Religion, Culture, and Peace Studies” will be available for free to four designated Jewish students during the academic year 2023/2024. As part of the Al-Issa Fellowship, these students will have exclusive access to the Program granted by the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa.
We strive to find the best students to represent the Jewish people at the cohort 2023-2024 and we are accepting direct applications now. To apply, please write an e-mail to masters@wjc.org informing the WJC about your intention to apply in order for us to be able to consider you for the scholarship. Then, follow the instructions described in the flyer to apply to the program itself. We are looking forward to welcoming you at the MA Program “Religion and Peacebuilding” at the University for Peace!
