The Zionist Village Square, launched by the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and Jewish National Fund (JNF), is bringing young Jewish leaders worldwide together to strengthen bonds and shape a shared future. This initiative addresses growing challenges to Jewish unity and identity through dialogue and collaboration.
Rooted in the WJC’s 2023 "Jewish Leadership Bridge" program in Jerusalem, the Village Square has grown into a global effort, including regional gatherings and competitions that inspire innovative ideas. At the 2024 JNF Global Conference in Dallas, Lauder Fellow Jeremias Abulafia spoke to 200 students about the Lauder Fellowship and WJC’s mission. Fellows Saul Hakim, Pe’er Krut, Bella Ingber, and Annie Gishen demonstrated the initiative’s impact through a mock debate, showing how respectful dialogue can connect communities.
Inspired by the Jewish value of Maḥloqeth leShem Shamayim- debate for the greater good—the Zionist Village Square equips participants with skills like listening, advocacy, and conflict resolution. It celebrates shared traditions while bridging divides, paving the way for a more robust, unified Jewish future.
