On September 17th, Yoni Hammerman, Deputy Director of WJC Elevate and Director of WJC NextGen, participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel. The event brought together representatives from international organizations, Israeli civil society, and the MFA to address the ongoing challenge of antisemitism on college campuses worldwide.
The roundtable provided a platform for an insightful exchange of ideas on how best to support Jewish students in the face of rising antisemitic incidents. Hammerman underscored that the safety and security of Jewish students must remain the highest priority. He also proposed a tailored approach, recommending that campuses receive relevant and strategic aid, as each institution faces unique challenges when confronting antisemitism.
The event facilitated a robust dialogue among participants, all of whom expressed a shared commitment to combating hate and ensuring that Jewish students around the globe feel supported and protected. Hammerman’s participation reaffirmed the World Jewish Congress's dedication to addressing antisemitism at the academic level and fostering a safe environment for Jewish students.
