An April Update From INC. Project Make Their Memory Shine

Founder of Make Their Memory Shine, Ethan Bergman, shares some exciting developments with his project:

Surrounding the weeks of Yom HaShoah, MTMS has partnered with the Makirut of the reputable Jewish youth movement 'Hashomer Hatzair' in Europe. Cleanings have, and will, take place in Brussels, Vienna, Zurich, Rome, Berlin, and more with dozens of children to introduce them to proactive commemoration and the importance of remembrance. On 13/04, Hashomer Hatzair invited most of the Jewish youth movements in Belgium (Hashomer Hatzair, Hanoar Hatzioni, Habonim Dror, and JJL) to participate in an extensive clean-up starting at the Jewish Museum of Belgium. MTMS aided in coordinating and planning this event, among other Stolpersteine clean-ups at Hashomer Hatzair. Following speeches and ceremonies by Phillipe Close, the mayor of Brussels, and Marcel Zalc, from the association for the memory of the Shoah, around 120 children from 12-18 cleaned 150+ stones around the former Jewish neighborhood of Brussels. We thank Hashomer Hatzair and the Mayor of Brussels for their commitment to our partnership and for helping us make their memory shine!
