WJC stands with Albania after massive earthquakes

27 Nov 2019

On Tuesday, November 26th, coastal cities in Albania were struck by a magnitude 6.4 earthquake, the country’s worst in decades. Approximately 650 people are reported injured and at least 26 have been confirmed killed.

Jews around the world were deeply saddened to learn of the terrible tragedy that has befallen Albania. We call upon Jewish communities to do whatever they can to help alleviate the suffering of Albanians. We are gratified that Israel has responded by sending a rescue team and we hope and pray for the success of that mission and all the others which have reached the scene of the disaster.
