NEW YORK – The World Jewish Congress has expressed its solidairty with the Greek people in the face of the raging deadly wildfires.
In letters to Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, on behalf of the WJC’s 100 affiliated communities, WJC President Ronald S. Lauder and CEO Robert Singer wrote:"
"On behalf of the World Jewish Congress and our more than 100 affiliated communities worldwide, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Greek people following the tragic loss of life due to the ongoing wildfires.
"Your nation has demonstrated incredible and admirable resilience in the face of this unthinkable calamity.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Greece as you confront this crisis, and we pray for the fires to end speedily with no further loss of life or injury."
