NEW YORK – World Jewish President Ronald S. Lauder commended the United States Senate for unanimously passing legislation condemning antisemitism in all its forms. The bipartisan resolution, introduced in May by Senators Tim Kaine and Ted Cruz, emphasizes the unique nature of antisemitism in its various manifestations and notes that “Jews are the targets of the majority of hate crimes committed in the United States against any religious group, including attacks on houses of worship and Jewish community centers.”

“I commend the members of the U.S. Senate for unambiguously confronting the heinous and pernicious nature of antisemitism, and recognizing that its evil not just persists but is resurgent in many parts of the world today,” Ambassador Lauder said. “This resolution is especially important at a time when far too many people turn a blind eye to the many physical and verbal attacks on Jews that are occurring on an almost daily basis.”
