WJC President Ronald S. Lauder condemns Hamas rocket barrage on Tel Aviv

NEW YORK -- Reacting to the intense barrage of rockets aimed at Tel Aviv and central Israel by the terrorist Hamas regime in Gaza, and speaking in the name of more than 100 Jewish communities on six continents, World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder declared:

“It is utterly unthinkable that the population of Israel should be held hostage to the murderous whims of a terrorist regime. No country in the world could be expected to tolerate such a brazen and bloody assault. It is the responsibility of every government to protect its citizens and we call on the international community to stand resolutely with Israel in its attempts to restore stability and safety — and to put an end to this outrageous situation. We mourn the loss of Jews and Arabs whose lives were horrifically ended as a result of Hamas fanaticism — and we pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded.”
