WATCH: Jewish delis are making a comeback

05 Jun 2019

As Ashkenazi Jews came to America, they brought deli styled food with them. The word deli orginiates from the German word "delicatessen" meaning "delicacies" or "ready to eat food." During the 1930's there were 1500 delis in New York, but as time went on, delis have become less and less popular. But now, the Jewish deli is making a comeback. Delis are opening up in Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, Birmingham and even Tokyo.
