The Monthly Policy Talk of the ICFR-EU Young Diplomats Forum was hosted by the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa

On January 19, 2012, the Monthly Policy Talk of the Israel Council on Foreign Relations-EU Young Diplomats Forum (an initiative co-sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and supported by the Delegation of the EU to Israel, several European embassies, and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs) was hosted by the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa in its newly restored Beit Zeirim community center. Offering a hands-on approach to diplomacy, the session was entitled: "Social Media & Government Communication—Mastering a New Tool in Citizen Communication."

Presentations were made by David Kriss, Press & Information Manager, EU Delegation to Israel; Kurt Hoyer, Press Attaché, US Embassy in Israel; and Yael Enoch-Maoz, Senior Project Manager, International Relations, Municipality of Tel Aviv . Professional background information on social media communication was provided by Michal Schrieber of Webdone. A lively discussion ensued, in which forum participants shared their respective experiences and insights. After the formal portion of the event, Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv Asaf Zamir invited the participants to an informal social get-together at a local nightspot.
