More than 2,500 people have signed a petition calling for changes in how the Israeli-Arab conflict and anti-Semitism are taught at the University of California. The petition says courses on the conflict were biased and that instructors and guest speakers created a hostile environment for Jewish students. The petition calls on California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to press university administrators to conduct a review of existing courses, develop courses about global anti-Semitism and ensure that campuses become “forums for intellectual inquiry and not vehicles for discrimination, intimidation and hate.”
