Online Holocaust denial spreading fast, WJC's Latin American branch warns

The Latin American Jewish Congress has warned that Holocaust denial on the internet was growing and has launched the campaign 'Six Million - Never Again' to combat this dangerous phenomenon.

350 negationist Spanish-language videos posted on the internet received 10,000,000 views alone, according to the LAJC's Observatorio Web. "If we don't remember what happened, the victims die a second death, and this could open the possiblity for another Holocaust," said Claudio Epelman, executive director of the Buenos Aires-based Latin American branch of the World Jewish Congress. "The internet is a place for information and communication, but it is nowadays also a platform for spreading hatred and discrimination," Epelman added.

Ariel Seidler, director of the Observatorio Web, declared: "We not only need to denounce these sites and videos because they sow hatred. Instead, we need to promote a positive content."

The LAJC has set up a special website where problematic videos can be reported.
