Labour and its new leader must work tirelessly to regain the trust of Jews

In just a few days’ time, we will know who will be leading the Labour Party into the next chapter of its history. In the current climate, I know that for most, if not all of us, politics is not at the top of our list of priorities. Many of us have loved ones who are either unwell, self-isolating to protect others, or are on the front line as staffers for our wonderful NHS. That is as true for the Jewish community as it is for the wider population.

However, given that the Labour Party will be under new leadership, I feel that it is incumbent upon me to set out our community’s expectations for the main party of opposition for the period ahead.
