The World Jewish Congress-JDCorps is currently accepting applications for the role of Administrator and Coordinator for North America, Latin America and Oceania.
The WJC-Jewish Diplomatic Corps (WJC-JDCorps) program is a network of exceptional young Jewish professionals involved in the field of diplomacy and public policy. Its 200 members, known as Jewish Diplomats (JDs), come from more than 40 countries and a wide array of professional backgrounds such as lawyers, university professors, parliamentarians and entrepreneurs.
The JDs act on behalf of the World Jewish Congress on a wide range of diplomatic and political issues, locally and internationally. They represent the World Jewish Congress in the United Nations including its bodies such as UNESCO and the Human Rights Council, the OSCE, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and others. They advocate internationally on issues such as antisemitism, racism and intolerance; religious freedom; refugees and migration; fighting terrorism and violent extremism; encouraging interfaith relations and more.
Terms:
- Reports to WJC Chief Program Officer.
- Works full time from the WJC New York Office with necessary travel as required.
Responsibilities:
- Works as a member of the WJC-JDCorps professional team and contributes to all general WJC-JDCorps matters as required.
- Responsible for the administrative and logistical coordination of WJC-JDCorps activities in his/her assigned region (i.e. North America, Latin American and Oceania) and for participation of members of his/her assigned region in WJC-JDCorps activities in other regions.
- Responsible for maintaining an open line of communication with members of the WJC-JDCorps in his/her respective region.
- Responsible for maintaining records of activity and participation of members of the WJC-JDCorps in the assigned regions and ensuring the activation and engagement of all members in activities.
- Coordinates and develops, along with the analysts and team members, programs, activities and training for the WJC-JDCorps in his/her region of responsibility.
- Coordinates and develops, along with the professional staff, international events, meetings and activities for the WJC-JDCorps.
- Coordinates and assists in the expansion, recruitment and creation of a larger WJC-JDCorps network in the assigned regions, as necessary.
- Develops, maintains and regularly updates WJC-JDCorps communications platforms including the newsletter, intranet, website, social media and other systems.
- Development and maintenance of WJC-JDCorps databases and information platforms.
- Other duties and activities deemed appropriate.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English are required. Spanish fluency an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, independent thinking and initiative are essential.
- Knowledgeable about Jewish communities worldwide, and issues of relevance to the Jewish communities
- Self-starter, hard worker and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Experience working in an international team an asset
- Program development experience an asset
- Experience working with volunteers an asset
- Knowledge of database, social media and website management an asset
