A gun which may once have belonged to Adolph Hitler has been sold in an internet auction for $140,025. The rare Krieghoff Drilling shotgun engraved with the initials 'A.H.' was sold by an Illinois pawn shop on behalf of an anonymous owner. There is no proof that the gun is actually connected to the infamous dictator although the makers are known to have given engraved guns to Hitler and other high-ranking German officials as it sought military contracts before World War II.

The final sale price values the gun at more than 20 times what it would have been worth without the possible connection to Hitler. Prior to the auction the owners have said that they will donate a portion of sale price to bodies fighting anti-Semitism.
