The German President, Horst Koehler, has said that Germany will do all it can to root out anti-Semitism and deepen the relationship between Israel and Germany. Speaking in Jerusalem at the beginning of a four day visit to Israel he said that he was concerned by the increase in anti-Semitic incidents in his country and vowed to curb the trend and added that "We mustn't arrive at a situation in which Holocaust survivors will ask, `What's going on there? Have the Germans forgotten everything?'".
