Members of the US Congress are meeting with the CIA today to urge the agency to release documents that could shed light on the activities of Nazis who worked for the intelligence agency during the Cold War. Under the 'Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act' of 1998 US government agencies are required to release all information they have on Nazi war criminals. Whilst the CIA has already released over 1 million documents, it is the only agency to not fully comply with the law, according to Elizabeth Holtzman, a member of the Nazi War Crimes Interagency Working Group. "They don't want to give us everything about Nazi war criminals, especially those who worked for them," she said. The CIA admits it recruited former Nazis to help gather intelligence during the Cold War, but denies it has withheld any files dealing with the commission of war crimes..
