Canadian court clears the way for neo-Nazi Ernst Zundel's deportation to Germany

A federal court in Canada has found that the white supremacist Ernst Zundel is a world leader in an ideology of hate and inspires, supports and directs violent adherents and uses Canada as a safe haven from which to destabilize the government of Germany. The damning assessment by Justice Pierre Blais clears the way for the government to deport Zundel to his native Germany, where he faces a charge of inciting racial hatred. The Canadian prosecutors had provided sufficient evidence that Zundel "has extensive involvement with contacts within the violent, racist, right-wing movement," Judge Blais says in his ruling, and went on: "Mr. Zundel is viewed by White Supremacists as a leader of international significance and was viewed as the patriarch of the movement in Canada for decades. Mr. Zundel is one of the world's most prominent distributors of revisionist neo-Nazi propaganda." Zundel was playing a critical role in the movement, both in Canada and internationally, the ruling says.
