Panel Discussion with Jewish Parliamentarians


The WJC Future Generation Activities Department took advantage of the 2006 ICJP conference in Jersulaem to invite five parliamentarians from different geographic regions to talk in a panel discussion entitled "Jewish Values in the Work of Jewish Parliamentarians". The event took place on the January 10th 2006 at the "Hillel Auditorium in the Hebrew University (Mt. Scopus campus).

The panel was addressed to a crowd of international and Israeli young Jewish activists and the parliamentarians were asked to share their views on Jewish tradition and values as well as to analyze the effect it has had on their public work.

The panel was moderated by Peleg Resef and the participants were:

- Rep. Barney Frank of the US
- Lord Greville Janner of Braunstone- UK
- MP Ida Fishman of Costa-Rica
- MP Tony Leon of South Africa
- Senator Roger Bismuth of Tunisia
