El primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, boicoteará hoy el discurso del presidente iraní en la Asamblea General de la ONU e instará a otros mandatarios a hacer lo mismo.
El presidente Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ha negado en varias ocasiones la existencia del Holocausto y en otras tantas ha llamado a la destrucción de Israel. "Cuando hable Ahmadinejad no estaremos allí", dijo la embajadora de Israel ante la ONU, Gabriella Shalev, y confirmó que Netanyahu abandonará la sala en el momento de la intervención del líder iraní.
Shalev agregó que Israel usará la cumbre de la ONU para explicar a otros países "lo peligroso que es este hombre [Ahmadinejad]”.
Por otra parte, el Congreso Judío Mundial lanzó en los últimos días una campaña en Internet en rechazo del discurso del mandatario iraní en la ONU y realizará protestas en todo el mundo para repudiarlo.
