Auschwitz-Birkenau epitomized the perpetration of absolute evil. Here, on this damp, foggy marsh some thirty-seven miles to the west of Krakow, the basic assumption that humankind may be considered civilized was forever compromised if not invalidated.

Uniting against anti-Semitism in Germany

Last week, the World Jewish Congress met in Berlin. The delegates also took part in a rally against anti-Semitism held at the iconic Brandenburg Gate. It was a memorable event.
