The Jewish community of Kazakhstan is calling on scholars to submit papers and to participate in the 8th International Scientific Conference to be held in the city of Almaty on 16 September 2016 at the country's Central State Archive, which is marking its 95th anniversary.
The conference is devoted to the following subjects:
- Evacuation to Kazakhstan, other Central Asian countries and Western Siberia during World War I: destinies of refugees, people, industrial facilities and cultural institutions evacuated to the regions listed above as well as stories about people forcedly changed their places of residence as a result of global political events.
- History of the Jews of Central Asia and Western Siberia.
The organizers are the Mitsva Association and the Central State Archive of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Kazakhstan.
Papers can be submitted via e-mail to Alexandr Baron at baron@mitsva.kz or jewish-kz@inbox.ru as well as in printed form to the postal address 050004 Almaty, Makataev st., 88, fl. 22. The number of publications from any one author is not limited. The organizers reserve the right to select and edit material for publication. Illustrations are welcome received in a separate file.
There is no registration fee of participants. If the authors are unable to attend in person, their reports will be presented at stands and publicized.
General requirements for texts: Times News Roman font 14, interval of 1.5cm, fields 2cm, end automatic footnotes. Please, also attach personal information: surname, first name, degree, position and place of work and contacts. Footnotes in the text of the source literature are executed in square brackets in the ordinal numbering. The source of literature is made at the end of the article.
Texts should be accompanied by information about the author: name, surname, academic degree, title, position and place of work and contact details.
Working languages: English, Kazakh and Russian.
