French court convicts writer who lamented that Nazis didn't 'finish the job'

A court in France sentenced the anti-Semitic writer Alain Soral to a suspended six-month prison sentence for saying the Nazis should have finished killing the Jews of Europe.
The sentence came after Soral posted on his Facebook page last year about Serge and Beate Klarsfeld, two anti-racism activists who helped track down dozens of Nazi war criminals, stating: "This is what happens when you don’t finish the job."
Soral referred to an article on an honor conferred on the Klarsfelds by Germany.
A judge found Soral, who is a well-known writer in far-right circles and an ally of the anti-Semitic comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala, guilty of "justifying war crimes and crimes against humanity."
In the past, Soral was convicted several times for minimizing or mocking the Holocaust.
The judge also ordered Soral to pay €5,000 ($5,600), to each of the Klarsfelds and €2,000 ($2,250) to the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism, which had filed the complaint against Soral for his Facebook post.
Appearing on a TV program in 2004, Soral said: "When you're talking with a Frenchman who is a Zionist Jew, and you start to say, well maybe there are problems coming from your side, maybe you might have made a few mistakes, it's not always the fault of other people if no-one can stand you wherever you go… because that's basically their general history, you see… for 2,500 years, every time they settled somewhere, after about fifty years or so, they get their arses kicked. Surely something strange here ! It's as though everyone is wrong except them. And the guy will start barking, yelling, going mad… you can't be able to carry on with the conversation. Which, to sum it all up, tells you that there's a psychopathology with Zio-Judaism, something that verges on mental illness…"
