Holocaust survivors sue Hungarian railway company in Chicago court
11 February 2010
Heirs of Holocaust survivors have filed a lawsuit in Chicago against the Hungarian state railway company MÁV, demanding compensation for MÁV’s involvement in deporting Jews to the Nazi camps during World War II. The Hungarian news agency MTI reports that the plaintiffs, who are mostly descendants of Holocaust survivors living in Israel and the US, demand compensation worth a total of US$ 1.24 billion.
Based on several years of investigations, they claim that MÁV provided train wagons for the deportation, "being fully aware" that they would be used to transport 437,000 Jews to the gas chambers of Auschwitz between March and October 1944.
The complaint was submitted to the Northern District Court of Illinois, and a judge has already been chosen, MTI reports.

Where's the limit?
I'd recommend that they sue Mr. Soros and the likes of him because as a Nazi collaborator he and others sold out their own people and probably are responsible for thousands of Jews being herded off and onto the camps and chambers... He also has more money that the MAV. Unless the goal is to take over the Hungarian railroads... And you wonder why there is anti-Semitism around the world????These people are certainly not helping... How many other peoples could sue every nation on the face of the earth because of genocide one time or another... Stop acting like the only victims of world history... I suggest Hungarans sue the Turks, Austria,The Russians etc... Hey it's all good money for the lawyers isn't it???
This is ridiculous! After more than a half century some idiots came up with this ??? How is it?
Well, then I should sue the US Air Force, because they've killed a lot of civilian in the bomb attack on Debrecen in the 2nd of June in 1944.
The Hungarian Railway Company is total penniless. The governmant has closed some of the lines recently.

I would like to know how I can apply for compensation for my grandfather who was deported with the others to Auschwitz in 1944; precisely from Gyor, Hungary. His daughters and wife are all dead as is my brother. He was a barber in WWI fighting to save Hungary... He was approximately 55 years of age or somewhat younger. His biography such as it is is documented in the archives of Vienna, Austria. He lost his property such as it was and of course his life.
Thank you for your assistance.
