Fifty young Catholic and Jewish seminarians, clerics, academics and theologians will gather in Berlin this week to discuss common challenges.
The Emerging Leaders Conference is hosted by the International Liaison Committee, the official body bringing together Jewish and Vatican officials on inter-faith dialogue.
The gathering will feature roundtable talks and workshops covering issues such as religious freedom, racism and anti-Semitism, threats to houses of worship and religious institutions, and the search for peaceful coexistence. The goal of this conference will be to acquaint future faith leaders with one another and explore cooperation on issues of common concern.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Vatican’s Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews and the International Jewish Committee on Interreligious Consultations (IJCIC). It serves on behalf of, and as an instrument of, its constituent member organizations to maintain and develop relations with the Vatican’s Commission on Religious Relations with the Jews, the Orthodox Christian Church, the World Council of Churches, and other international religious bodies
